Christmas Ornaments Plastic Box

My dog seems to have suddenly developed separation anxiety. Most of the time when we home all right. Once (2 weeks ago) I went back recently to all put my Christmas decorations hung about … everything was out. I had not had the chance to buy a tote for them so I had in plastic bags for the moment. Today I went home for lunch and he was locked in my room from August to December as a safety measure. My sheets were all out of bed on the floor, a box of tissues torn everywhere, and a pillowcase that was on a pillow which he placed on torn. I am a little incredulous. He never did anything even remotely resembles the separation anxiety and now this. What can I do to solve this problem? What set this off? He was trained as a puppy cage, but was weaned him and has been 100% reliable until very recently.
