making Christmas ornaments?
my best friends and I are going to give eachother our ornaments for gifts this year and really buy for children … last year i gave the godmothers and godfathers those of my son, but I do not know what to do this year i was looking for good ideas if you please let me know.
I make ornaments for my co-workers each year. My favorite so far were now made from polymer clay. I used the white clay and rolled about 3 / 8 inch. Do not use a pasta machine, because it makes it too flat and these ornaments are rustic. Then I tore the clay into rough shapes triangles, using the existing board at the top and type of curling up all the places that were pointed or too thin. Then I used small alphabet stamps I had in our craft shop and the stamp of a word that represented the person, such as energy, strength, laughter, etc., I typed the word in French. I just went to the library and used the English / French. Then I used a toothpick to make a hole at the top that the string would go through and cooked according to package. After they cooled, I sealed with a stain polyurethane that was in it. I painted and rubbed off the excess, but leave the spot fill in the letters, they looked old. After have dried, I hot glue small pieces of greenery and berries (which I won my bowl of potpourri) at the top just below the hole, then tied on a piece string to hang with. The finished piece is approximately 3 to 4 inches in each direction depending on how you pull it off or the size of the word you use. They look like old stone carvings. Everyone loved them. I know it sounds like assign work, but it goes very quickly. I also made some for us and our family name was on him and some traditional Christmas sayings in French of course. Merry Christmas!
